What People Are Saying

Event Attendees

“Yejin is the most empowering, engaging, and caring facilitator I've ever interacted with. Yejin approaches information with an empathetic and person first approach that creates strong communities among audience members. To witness her facilitate is to be loved, motivated, inspired, and ready for action all at the same time. Bring an open mind, a way to take notes, and time to process afterwards because you'll need it.”

“Yejin is a very special person with incredible talent and gifts. Learning from her has helped me grow as a person; she has made me better for both my own family and my community. Her passion for making this world better for everyone in it, but esp POC, is contagious! She puts so much thought and effort into her work, that anyone who works with her or attends a training, will walk away with tools, knowledge, and concrete ways to gently but powerfully move towards change for the good of the community.”

“Yejin is an incredible educator in that she advocates for action beyond learning. In this workshop, she was able to introduce background information, how those theoretical terms show up in our real lives, and what to do about it. As someone who recently started their career, seeing another BIPOC woman own her power and be unapologetic was truly inspiring and I will take this information to every workplace moving forward.”

“Yejin put into words what I have been trying to capture for the past 10 years. Her ability to facilitate a safe space for POC that both honors traumatic experiences and makes space for healing is like none I have ever experienced before. If there is a fan club, I want to join and you should too because it is clear that Yejin is a natural leader and change maker
in all spaces she is a part of!”

“Grateful for your courage to enter a space you intentionally stay out of; motivated by your ability to speak directly and honestly about the anger you feel and the urgency in this work; the Dunning Kruger Effect is the most specific/real/illustrative challenge I have ever seen antiracist work among White people pointed toward - thank you for generating awareness of that for me. Yejin, I identified very specific harms I have caused BIPOC in the past throughout the workshop and you helped create awareness in me of the things I need to stop fucking doing. Thank you.”

“Yejin, you were fabulous. Thank you so much for the session and all that went into its facilitation. This was exactly what I needed: real talk, tough talk, and very specific instances of racist work practices and management. FYI, from the communications beforehand, I had the impression it'd be much explosive and dramatic. But I didn't have that experience at all —though charged and challenging, it was very approachable and engaging.”

“What an incredible and moving experience. I laughed, I cried and experienced so many emotions. Attending Yejin's workshop was an exercise in catharsis and solidarity.”

“Yejin is the REAL deal! It's hard to find a facilitator who brings their full selves to this work but Yejin did a beautiful job in creating intentional space to do just that. I'd highly recommend her workshops to BIPOC folx and will gladly attend future ones!”

“If you are a POC struggling with vocalising inequities in the workplace, knowing something is wrong but not understanding why, or even unsure whether something is wrong, but your stomach is in a knot on a regular basis, then you must attend this workshop. Be prepared to ‘come home.’”

Coaching Clients

“I worked with Yejin during a challenging and transitional time in my life and career during the pandemic. I had multiple ideas about the direction I wanted to go in my career, with a focus on community and autonomy. Yejin meets you where you are. She helped me break down big ideas that seemed impossible and overwhelming, into tangible steps towards my goals. She facilitated introspection in each visit, which helped clarify things that are actually important to me. I'm glad I invested time to work with Yejin. Her support, guidance, and expertise is highly recommended to anyone navigating their career path. She's a bad ass!”

“I am a first generation neurodiverse Latina who was diagnosed late in life with my learning differences. I have navigated spaces with the possible understanding that I may process things differently, but as a person, it's hard enough to discern reactions and emotions to things such as toxic social constructs and microaggressions, let alone understand how to self-advocate effectively. After hearing one of Yejin's talks, I felt we held similar values and thought I can learn how to identify things more effectively and navigate the workplace in a more intentional manner. Yejin disclosed that she does not specialize in coaching neurodiverse individuals and provided additional resources, but I must say having worked with others who say they do specialize in working with neurodiverse individuals, she was much more attuned and willing to learn nuances. I started our coaching sessions feeling like my communication needed a lot of work, but after discussing in detail the experiences I underwent, we ended up deconstructing incidents in such a way that helped me realize that communication was skewed; that there were expectations that I had that weren't met by leadership in my company. We spent a lot of time discussing ways to help me strategize how to navigate work better, and most importantly, envision the best work environment for me.”

“As an AAPI woman in executive leadership, it was really important to me to find a coach who A) was not a straight, cis white man; B) embodied values of equity, racial justice, and liberation; and C) understood my work, which sits at the intersection of nonprofit, movement building, and civic engagement. I found that coach in Yejin. Working with her over the past year has been a total game-changer. She offers a pragmatic framework to turn values into action and operationalize equity in our workplace. Her coaching style is collaborative rather than prescriptive, which makes our work together feel like a true partnership. Whether she is helping provide support for immediate fires or long term planning, Yejin has been an invaluable partner to me.”

— Irene Shin | Leadership Coaching Client

“Yejin has a gift. She has a unique ability to both connect with you personally and provide tactical, meaningful advice and solutions. She asks the right questions to distill the core issues and obstacles. She customizes her plans to suit your specific needs and goals. She is adept at understanding how power and privilege manifest in work environments. Her empathy and true understanding underlies every interaction I have had with her. I have had more breakthroughs and growth with her in a few sessions than I have had in any professional development seminar (and with most therapists). Everyone, but particularly BIPOC women, should book their first session with her as soon as humanly possible!”

Education Clients

“Ada Developers Academy hired Yejin Lee to provide a unique training to our corporate partners about racial harm caused by managers in the workplace. Yejin has deep knowledge and has sourced real examples about how BIPOC employees are marginalized within racist institutions. Yejin has perfected the ability of centering and honoring the experience of BIPOC employees while urging folks in positions of power to immediately dismantle systems and practices that are harming their BIPOC employees. Yejin was extremely communicative and generous of her time, knowledge and resource before during and even after her training. She is considered a valued resource to our entire organization.”
